School Management

A mobile-first school management platform designed to centralize student, academic and administrative workflows in one system.

The problem

Schools often manage student records, assignments, attendance, fees and notices across separate processes. This can make everyday information harder to access, maintain and manage—especially for students and teachers using mobile devices.

The outcome

The platform brings core school workflows into one full-stack application, giving users a centralized place to manage student information, assignments, fees, attendance and school updates.

The approach

I designed the application as a layered full-stack system with a React frontend, Spring Boot REST APIs and PostgreSQL persistence. The backend separates controllers, business logic and data access so the system can grow as additional school workflows are introduced.

Mobile-first React frontend ↓ REST APIs ↓ Spring Boot controllers ↓ Service / business logic ↓ JPA / Repository layer ↓ PostgreSQL

What I built

Student management
School / teacher management
Assignment & homework management
Student fee tracking
Fee status management
Attendance management
School notices & updates
REST API architecture
PostgreSQL persistence
Responsive mobile-first interface

Engineering decisions

The application is structured around separate backend responsibilities rather than putting all logic inside controllers. REST controllers handle requests, services contain business rules and repositories manage database access. This makes the application easier to maintain and extend as more school operations are added.
